About Renta Solaire

Radif Partners

Publisher of a commune-by-commune solar calculator for France, with no installer and no call-back: PVGIS yield, self-consumption, surplus tariff

Renta Solaire (“a roof that pays”) is published by Radif Partners. It answers the question hundreds of thousands of homeowners in France ask every month: are solar panels on my roof worth it, and how long until they pay for themselves?

Why this site exists

On that question, the top results are installer and supplier calculators that ask for a phone number before showing a figure, or promise a call from an adviser, and articles that still quote the self-consumption premium and the 4 c€/kWh tariff, abolished or replaced since June 2026. This site gives you straight away, for your own commune, your roof’s output, the share you will actually use and the years to pay back at the feed-in tariff in force since 5 June 2026, with no form and no call-back.

Where the figures come from

Output for each of the 34 386 communes of mainland France comes from PVGIS, the European Commission Joint Research Centre’s tool. The self-consumed share is simulated hour by hour from residential load profiles published by Enedis, the grid operator. The surplus tariff is the one set by the order of 1 June 2026; the electricity price is the regulated Tarif Bleu in force. No public body publishes the price of a home system: the site shows an estimate drawn from recent quotes, labelled as such, and asks you to type your own. Everything is detailed in the method.

What we are not

Radif Partners is not the government, the energy regulator (CRE), EDF, Enedis or an installer. We sell no panels, pass on no quotes, take no commission and ask for no contact details. Only your quote, your purchase contract and your bill are binding.

Funding and data

The site is free and needs no sign-up. The calculation runs in your browser, on files the site publishes itself: the town and figures you type go nowhere. If it ever shows advertising, it will never sit above the calculator, never come from an installer presented as a recommendation, and never change a result.

Why an English version

Every page exists in English for foreign homeowners in France meeting EDF’s purchase contract, the town-hall prior declaration and the self-consumption agreement for the first time: French terms are explained, amounts stay in euros.
